Mad Cow race team's garage
What do a Porsche Boxster S, an Audi S4, a VW Touareg 5.0 liter V10 TDI, and a race car have in common besides an engine, four wheels and a seat? They all live in Will Campbell's home garage. And they are living the good life.
Will Campbell, A.K.A. the "Certified Car Guy™," has a home garage war room straight out of an auto racer and enthusiast's wildest dreams. He should know; he is a racer himself - head of the "The Mad Cow" race team whose crown jewel is a track-ready, supercharged 1938 Ford Coupe complete with a familiar bovine spotted hide finish.
"The Mad Cow is very popular with the fans at the track," Will explains, "especially the younger ones, all of whom want to sit in the car and make 'Vrooom!' noises."
But it's The Mad Cow's digs that seem to get much of the attention these days. Will is not one to cut corners. Especially in outfitting his home garage and workshop with everything he needs to do some serious doting on his beloved #34, as well as the rest of his auto family. So he invested in Lista workbench and storage solutions, including stainless steel-topped drawer storage cabinets for tools and supplies, a sink cabinet, spacious overhead cabinets for parts and other bulky items, and a productivity-enhancing workbench with durable butcher block top. The equipment's fire-engine-red paint stands in clean, functional contrast to the surrounding white-washed walls, floors and ceilings.
"I thought long and hard about the garage when it was still just electrons on a CAD system," Will says. "It was designed to have everything that the ultimate garage should have, including a lift, separate air compressor and parts storage room, heat and AC, web access, welding center, etc."
"I wanted to buy cabinets once," he continues. "I'd had others and sold them so I could start over with what I came to understand over time were the best. Lista cabinets aren't the least expensive, but they are the best value."
Visitors seem to agree. "Most people are surprised when they see the garage," Will says. "Even professional mechanics think it is a great place to work, and are impressed by the evident quality of the Lista system that's an integral part of the garage."
